Our Story

Our story begins with a mission, a labor of love for my sons and my chosen family.

Beginning with so many things happening in my life, around me, and my chosen family, I started to question everything. In 2025, my chosen sister, best friend, comadre, and godmother of my sons, an amazing, strong, intelligent, hardworking, beautiful soul and sister from another mother was diagnosed with a chronic illness. I thank God that her illness is not terminal; however, there is very little known about it: POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). Together, we can help support the path toward better understanding and solutions.

2025 Turned her life upside down and her immediate family’s life as well. I see how much she is suffering with all the side effects, medicine, and loss of independence. I’ve been with her and constantly contact her and her husband. She has many bad days and very few good days. Time flies, her birthday is here and she is not feeling well. She is not able to celebrate because she is having a really bad day because of her illness.

It is now September, I’m feeling hopeless and not sure how I can help her and uplift her spirit. I’m scrolling on my phone to find something to watch. I start listening to my radio talk show hosts that I’ve listened to for years, and now I watch them online. The radio talk show host surprises his wife and shows her a video on their website with a special project done by their daughter who has been given a column on their site. The radio talk show host’s wife is so happy and touched about what her husband and daughter have done, she cries out of happiness.

My wheels start turning as I wipe the tears of my face as I listen to the beautiful story. I want to continue teaching my sons that you can reinvent yourself at any age, leave a legacy, be kind, and help your chosen family and others. 

October now, the idea that brewed is now being carried on, and my youngest son and I are collaborating and developing the website. My oldest son is my media critique and helps with social media. My husband helps me bounce ideas and helps me tweak unique designs. He is my biggest critic and biggest fan.

This labor of love is still being developed November 2025, we are so close to launch. I would like for my sons to carry on with their future family, biological or chosen family, our company MaSmilesCoandSons, and our logo “Be a Ladybug Not a Dinosaur” can be as big as other major brands with your help.

We are here to spread love to one and all, togetherness, and be kind, true inspirational words of kindness. Future plans are to support research POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) to help my chosen family and many others that are suffering. Together, we can help create hope by supporting research through established organizations.

I’m proud to say I am a Latina family-founder brand dreaming big together. We opened our online store on November 12, 2025. We are looking ahead and with a goal in mind. Help us grow and support our family-founded brand “Be a Ladybug Not a Dinosaur”
